Youth should be colorful

Public speaking

I was an introvert when I was a kid. However, when I was in the third grade of elementary school, I saw two of my classmates standing on the stage and hosting the event. At that time, I was amazed by them, admiring their confidence and speaking skills. In fifth-grade, I raised my hand to be the host of the school rally, and it is the first time that I speak in front of so many people. I successfully completed the first presiding task. However, in the loose trousers, only I know that my legs kept trembling. Completing a host did not gratify me, and I accumulated a lot of speaking experience in the four years after that. During this period, I began to express myself bravely, allowing my thoughts to merge with others. Until now, I am still doing hosting and speaking activities, serving as the honorary host of my high school.

My research: photothermal conversion efficiency

In recent years, the problem of energy shortage has become increasingly urgent, and solar energy has been widely used as a special renewable energy source. The use of solar energy for desalination of seawater is an effective way to alleviate the shortage of water resources. The study found that the nano-carbon material has good light absorption properties, which helps to improve the efficiency of seawater desalination. In this project, by comparing the temperature changes of the three carbon material solutions of ink, graphene, and graphene oxide under the same conditions, the Photothermal conversion efficiency of the three materials was determined, and the factors such as particle size and absorbance were further studied. It was found that the low-cost ink solution has the highest Photothermal conversion efficiency , 2.48℃/min with ink VS 1.39℃/min without ink）and has potential application value in desalination of sea water.

Musical instrument: Piano

For me, the piano is an indispensable life partner. It originated from a "sweeping glimpse" when I was six years old. I started with the boring basic skills. There is no doubt that the beginning tracks are not pleasing to the ear. I spent two years practicing basic skills, including learning music theory, fingering and notation hand patterns, etc. After that, I held a small concert at home to show the results to my family, even though the music was so monotonous. Finally, when I was nine, I held my first concert: I played the Blue Danube at my piano teacher's house and invited many students' parents. When entering high school, many people say that their studies are too heavy for them to breathe, and there is no time for them to do other than study. For me, the piano has become one of my very effective decompression methods. The piano brings me tranquility, a feeling of being still and flowing slowly with time. Every time I sit on the piano bench and play a piece, it is a moment of communication within myself. The time I spent with myself endows me patient and sober mind.

The street dance class from a famous dance master

Hip-hop is not only a sport but also a channel to express thoughts and emotions. When I was in high school, I happened to see a Chinese TV show: This Is Hip-hop! I was attracted by the rhythm and explosion of the dancer's body. Their best-selling dance always makes me scream for them across the screen. This contagious sport touched me so much, and I decided to learn Hip-hop. I joined the school's street dance club, learning popping and breaking with friends who have excellent dance experience. They led me to practice hard and patiently correct my movements and balance. Eventually, we won the 4th prize in Beijing Street Dance Team.

Sports activities: Badminton

My dad and I have been playing sports together since childhood. From swimming to badminton, my dad was my indispensable mentor. I started playing badminton in 7th grade. After my father taught me some basic playing styles, I was fortunate to be taught by the world women's doubles badminton champion Chen Lin. Since then, I started my badminton journey. I participated in the Beijing Badminton Tournament in the third year of junior high and got fourth in the group. In the same year, I won the championship in the junior high school badminton competition in Daxing District.
